Background Before discussing the effects of bullying, it’s important to know the definition of bullying. It has numerous definitions, all of which are related to aggression and control of power by intimidation. Bullying is generally defined as an intentional act of harm, either physical or emotional, upon those that are considered inferior or weaker. Not only that, but it can also be harmful to children and adolescents who are constantly moving through their identity development (Kira, Lewandowski, Ashby, Somers, Chiodo, Odenat, 2014). It is also said that involvement in bullying, as the bully or victim, has negative effects on the physical and psychological health of children and on their future psychosocial adjustment as adults (Vaillancourt, Hymel, McDougall, 2013). Education Is A Privilege, Not A Right Essay Learning Is a Privilege, Not a Right Nationalized tests are tests that students are forced to take at the end of every school year for the classes that are required to be passed in order to graduate high school. Failing a nationalized test will result in a student having to either take the same class the next year, or the student being held back and having to repeat the grade. Because these tests are such a huge deal, the students are put under a lot of pressure and that usually causes the students to develop test anxiety if they do not already have It. Also, the fact that not all students are on the same Intelligence level can prove the nationalized tests as inaccurate because all of the tests are the same and are set to a certain standard that not all students can achieve. However. With that being said, I do believe that some of the students that are not on the same Intelligence level as others have sometimes done It to themselves by being irresponsible and careless. Studies have shown that just because a person Is the same age as the other students in their grade, that it does not mean they are always on the same level of intelligence as others. Everyone In the world Is different and has his or her own ways of learning. Every person has a different way of thinking, and some people learn slower than others, as well as the fact that some kids are extremely advanced for their age. Thinking and doing certain things differently does not make a person stupid or unintelligent, but the reason a lot of students do not pass nationalized tests Is because people who design them assume that all students are on the same level. Test anxiety is a psychological condition in which a person experiences distress before, during, or after a test or other assessment to such an extent that this anxiety causes poor performance or interferes with normal learning. Nowadays in most high schools they have what Is called weighted grades, which means that of a students grade is on tests alone, 30% is on the actual assignments like glasswork and projects, and only 10% is on homework and other small assignments. Because the tests are such a big part of the grade students usually get really nervous before they take a test. Before a test a student should study and try to be as prepared for the test s they can, but sometimes you can prepare as much as possible and still not do well because of how a test is worded. For instance, last year I had to study every single night for a test that I had In English because I knew that I had to pass. I was so sure that I was prepared and that I was going to ace the test with no problem. Sadly though, that was not the case. The moment I got the test I knew that I was not going to do well at all because of the way the questions were worded and how they told me to do certain things on the test. I had no idea how to do some of the things simply cause did not know what was being asked of me. I had a horrible case of test anxiety that day. It affects so many people all the time and will cause them to doubt 1 OFF themselves. My last point is that a student should always accept and take responsibility for his or her own actions. A lot of the time, a student will try to blame the teacher for him or her failing a test or an assignment. Although sometimes this can be the case, it is rare. Its usually the student who is at fault. The Job of a teacher is to teach and provide the information that the students will need in order to succeed in the classes hat they take. Sadly though, a lot of kids do not take advantage of the fact that they have the opportunity to learn and make a bright future for themselves. Some dont care about school and think that it is a waste of their time, so they throw their education away. Learning and going to school is a privilege and a choice that we are fortunate enough to have, but it is not a right, and I personally believe that a student should take advantage of that privilege to try and make a successful future for them.

"The whole point of knowledge is to produce both meaning and purpose in our personal lives" I relate to this quote on a personal level because this is how I think and feel about things like religions and pretty much everything, it's just to produce meaning in a meaningless life nothing truly matters, honestly without knowledge we would be just mindless beings walking around the earth with no purpose what so ever but the thing about knowledge is you can never know everything and our minds are forever expanding with knowledge and we are always learning new things everyday but no one truly knows why we do we just do and that produce both meaning and purpose to our everyday lives and that's what I think this quote is talking about. Our personal lives will have a greater purpose if we are able to reflect and learn about a certain subject. The main areas of knowledge that have greater influence towards the path taken in life are ethics, intuition, and religious knowledge. One KQ I have would be "how do we know whether we need to gain knowledge to give meaning and purpose to our lives?" Ethics are the basic concepts and principles of a sane human being. The study of universal values such as the equality of all, obedience towards law health, and increasingly, the protection of the natural environment. However, these values depend a lot on the cultural identity someone was brought on, their preferences and their own values. In other words, ethics is a gathering of personal rules that each person applies to its own values and morals in order to make decisions. It is coherent to state that the ethics may have a great impact on a person's life path as it may reveal questions in life, an example would be you someone but they are already in a devoted relationship with someone, so you decide not to attempt any romantic relationship with them because: you don't want to disturb their relationship and cause their relationship emotional harm; the world is full of single, intelligent and beautiful people. There can be many examples and sometimes a small action or omission can have significant consequences. Some actions can start positive chain reactions and can lead to positive net results. Being mindful, being self-confident and letting your "heart flow" is a good way to be more ethical in your daily life. History, The word 'history' is derived from the Greek noun 'historia' meaning 'inquiry or research, historical knowledge is often used to define meaning and purpose in personal lives' . Real life examples could be drawn from nationalism, state ideology, religious or economic systems. Early man didn't know how to light fire but with time, they gained knowledge and started to evolve with the motive to know more and today there are no early man but there are us, History provides a terrain for moral contemplation. Studying the stories of individuals and situations in the past allows a student of history to test his or her own moral sense, History also helps provide identity, and this is unquestionably one of the reasons all modern nations encourage its teaching in some form. Historical data include evidence about how families, groups, institutions and whole countries were formed and about how they have evolved while retaining cohesion. The importance of history is in its capacity to h elp one to draw conclusions from the past events. It may be said that history is to the human race, what memory is to each man. It sheds the light of the past upon the present, thus helping one to understand oneself, by making one acquainted with other peoples. History makes one's life richer by giving meaning to the books one reads, the cities one visits or the music one hears. Memory is mainly defined as the faculty by which the mind stores and remembers information and something remembered from the past (Van de Lagemaat, 2015:252). American culture was so different than Argentinas culture, when it comes to relationship between people. And Americans are less friendly with other people and more selfish compared to Argentines. In Argentina, families and friends are very close to each other. Every Sunday at noon, there is always a BBQ in someones house to for families and friends. Weekdays are so busy working that people in there always find some time to meet their families and friends on weekends. Also they live so close to each other, so they can be together and see each other any time they want. Also Argentine are very gentlemen, they always let ladies first, and they are very kind. When a close friend needs help they are always together, helping each other in whatever he or she needs. Americans are more selfish; maybe they do not know that. But I think they should try to change step by step to learn to do in in-group and have more connection with other people. It is sad that there is no closeness between a family member who lives in N.Y. and another who lives in L.A. or even though they are living in the same neighborhood they do not see each other very often. It is sad that only twice a year there is a family reunion, one in Thanksgiving and one in Christmas.
